"Pink, Pounce and Punch"
Pinkers are the tools used to put decorative cuts and edges on garments from the 15th through the 19th Centuries.
The straight pinkers seen at the top right of the photo are careful reproductions of one held by the Victoria and Albert Museum and illustrated in Janet Arnold's Queen Elizabeth's Wardrobe Unlock'd. They are available in the original 5/8" cut, or smaller or larger as you require. The maximum cut for this pinker is 1".
The scalloped pinkers seen in the center and left of the photo are copies of originals in our collection and are useful for doing the edges of @1770s women's sleeve ruffles and decorative trims. They are also used on women's sleeve and ruffle edges from the late 1840s through the mid to late-1860s. The height of their fashion was in the 1850s.
The scalloped pinkers come in 4 sizes: 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and 1". Other sizes are available by special order.
The above pinkers are $40 each, post paid. Any pinker over 1" is a custom order and is priced separately. For further information, please feel free to contact us.
